The 2026 SB 1383 Organics Campaign

The 2026 Organics Outreach Campaign will promote organics and food waste recycling to residents in California. Various ads have been created for placement on Facebook, Instagram, the Google Display Network (popular websites and apps), X, Pinterest, Nextdoor, and/or Reddit that only run within the geographic boundaries of the participating cities and counties:

How to Participate

  • To take part, choose your favorite ads (max three), let us know of any changes, and provide us with your logo and budget.
  • CalRecycle logo will be added, if necessary.
  • Placement of the ads will be on various digital and social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, the Google Display Network (popular websites and apps), X, Pinterest, Nextdoor, and/or Reddit.
  • Ads will be viewable only by your residents via the platforms’ geotargeting features.
  • Your webpage will serve as the landing (“click-to”) page for your residents to learn more about your organics program.

Goals of the RRG

  • Benefit all participating jurisdictions
  • Supplement and enhance — but not replace — community-based and/or local activities
  • Impact the key target audiences with creative, yet effective, messaging
  • Be broad-based to reach the diverse populations of each jurisdiction

  • Include outreach in Spanish and other languages
  • Leverage public service opportunities such as PSAs and bonus spots

  • Include evaluation components for all campaigns

Annual Used Oil and Filter Campaign

Every year since 1993, the RRG has implemented the annual Used Oil and Filter Campaign that educates residents, motorists, and DIYers about the importance of recycling their used oil and filters, and reducing oil change intervals.

Holiday CRV and Bottle Campaign

The RRG’s Holiday CRV Recycling Campaign engages the residents of the participating cities and counties and encourages them to recycle their CRV beverage containers during six separate holiday periods, when large volumes of empty CRV cans and bottles are generated.
